Michael is one of our passionate Cybersecurity Managers responsible for leading the Cyber Risk Management team at Southern California Edison (SCE). He also leads various technical projects and engages with business leaders across the company on identifying and implementing risk mitigation plans. Michael and his team oversee cybersecurity risk management at the company and drive implementation of cyber assurance plans while ensuring effective cyber practices enterprise-wide.

Cyberattacks are not new in our digital world, but the tools and techniques used in hacking attempts are ever-changing. Before transitioning into his leadership role, Michael worked on the Cybersecurity Governance, Policies and Standards team where he was responsible for developing the company’s cybersecurity governance framework. He’s also served as a presenter for cybersecurity awareness events, sharing his expertise on various topics. Michael is now on the frontlines, guarding against today’s advanced and persistent cyberattacks and he knows that as one of the nation’s critical utilities, our electric infrastructure requires constant vigilance and innovation.

What type of projects or initiatives is the cyber team working on?

With grid modernization, we are evolving our cyber capabilities to defend the Grid of the Future. Creativity and thought leadership are driving to build secure solutions to deliver power to millions of people today and tomorrow.
