Become a Material Operations Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be analyzing overhead and underground distribution work orders and applying the appropriate unit price task codes leading to the timely creation of pre-requisitions and purchase orders. This includes building strong relationships and collaboration with distribution line construction vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring Contractor Project Store (CPS) & Contractor Satellite Staging Area (CSSA) compliance at contractor material yards, per SCE yard management policies and procedures. In this position, you may be assigned special projects utilizing Microsoft Office products and other SCE platforms. Responsibilities

  • Performs and validates unit pricing in support of electrical line source contracts.
  • Facilitates and/or assists project supervisors and regional construction managers with service confirmations, field change orders (FCOs) and time confirmations as needed.  
  • Consults with planning staff, as needed or requested, to ensure design and materials meet project goals.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Unit and T&E priced job aids and tasking codes.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve field change orders (FCO’s).
  • Conducts inspections of contractor managed material yards in accordance with CPS and CSSA Policies and Procedures.
  • Facilitates presentations and leads tasking meetings.
  • Partners with contractor and field accounting to determine material shortages impacting projects. Submits shortage requests to appropriate organizations and follows progress to successfully acquire material needs ensuring project remains on schedule through completion. 
  • Supports the validation of 30-day inventory levels at contractor yards.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supporting inventory management, logistics and/or supply chain management.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Two or more years of experience in construction, planning, or maintenance of electrical facilities and equipment.
  • Current or previous Qualified Electrical Worker with line construction experience.
  • Two or more years of experience performing tasking or pricing in the utility industry.
  • Two or more years of experience with in-depth knowledge of SCE’s overhead and underground construction standards.
  • Two years of experience in SAP, CLICK Schedule, and Supplier Portal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
