Become a Transmission Telecom Planning, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be responsible for supporting & processing complex technical Utility and Non-Utility work requests associated with Telecommunication facilities & existing infrastructure throughout the Southern California Edison Territory. These requests are for preliminary Estimates, Design, Facility Lookups, Relinquishments, Joint Pole requests, Substation projects, and Interconnection projects. These projects are mainly driven by I.T., Substation Engineering, Transmission, Distribution, and related Third party customers.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering and design in relation to SCE Telecomm Facilities. Provides information and data regarding future growth and budgetary planning.
- Develops cost estimates and prepares work orders or construction plans on major projects, several smaller projects, and issuing construction packages to the system for construction.
- Handles permitting, environmental requirements, compliance, and construction activities inclusive of Traffic Control/Pedestrian Control, Encroachment, Street use, Excavation, Railroad, Flood Control, CHP, Caltrans, BLM, National Forest, and all associated stakeholders (i.e. TYCC OCC including Caiso and ISO).
- Leads, monitors and follows up on construction activities and outages inclusive of standards and safe work practices related to overhead and underground construction safety.
- Supports operational emergencies and dispatches crews and resources to restore services as needed.
- Maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Design, Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Line Construction, or Engineering discipline.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with engineering principles, construction standards, and industry practices.
- Experience determining scope of work, method of service, and OH/UG construction methods.
- Proficient with Wind/Pole Loading applications, Drafting systems, GIS, or related design systems(i.e. Spida Calc, Autodesk AUD, cGIS, SAP, or equivalents).
- Experience preparing work orders, construction plans, or project packages.
- Ability to manage multiple technical or customer projects under shifting priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams (i.e. clients, peers, management, agencies).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing and able to drive off road across varying types of terrain, work in various weather conditions, and possibly be in remote regions (i.e. out of state, desert, and mountain).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Alhambra, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location.
- This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week
