The pay range and the specific pay for the successful candidate are determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Southern California Edison Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

Become a Business Resiliency, Planning, Training, and Exercises Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening enterprise preparedness by coordinating and delivering planning, training, and exercise activities that span multiple Business Resiliency functions. This role focuses on emergent special projects such as business continuity planning and testing, disaster recovery testing, facilitating documentation of new processes or procedures in order to exercise, etc. Work will include initiatives requiring integration across planning, training, exercises, and operational partners.

 

The Advisor serves as a connector across Business Resiliency teams and Organizational Units (OUs), ensuring alignment, consistency, and execution of resiliency initiatives that enhance the company’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.

 

This position will also be responsible for working with other Business Resiliency programs and other OUs in the company to ensure exercises align with current initiatives and priorities. During real-world incidents this position may be called upon to support the IMT in the Emergency Operations Center virtually or in person.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with key business units to develop and lead planning and response teams maintain or develop response plans in the event of severe but plausible operational disruptions.
  • Supports business resiliency incident management activities within the crisis management processes and monitor lessons learned.
  • Performs gap analysis on assessment findings to identify critical business processes, resources, and key personnel.
  • Continuously improves and enhances business resiliency plans and recovery strategies. Collects, analyzes, and presents key metrics to senior management.
  • Researches and identifies relevant requirements and procedures to implement best practices in crisis management and business resiliency.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of key program documentation including the reporting and supporting material for risk committees and other governance groups.
  • Monitors critical and important incidents, identifying the cause, remediation, future risks, and escalating to leadership as needed.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience dealing with emergency management, business resiliency, or facility preparedness.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience on an Incident Management Team or Emergency Operations Center responder or as part of an Emergency Operations Center cadre.
  • Two or more years of experience in business continuity or continuity of operations.
  • Experience designing and developing trainings and exercises.
  • Strong skills in working across functions or organizations, and in building consensus among teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working with or for an electric utility.

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
