Become a Customer Energy Programs Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the team supporting the Self‑Generation Incentive Program (SGIP), which provides incentives for clean energy technologies that improve customer resiliency and advance California’s clean energy goals. In this role, you’ll help customers navigate program requirements, ensure timely and accurate support, contribute to reduced GHG emissions, and improve system reliability. You’ll also work within a broader Customer Generation Programs team focused on behind‑the‑meter renewable energy solutions. Responsibilities

  • Advises on action around energy efficiency and demand response programs to optimize energy usage during peak periods.
  • Analyzes program reports and dashboard to identify conservation targets.
  • Coordinates program events with leadership and senior individual contributors.
  • Conducts analysis of energy usage data, load patterns, and grid conditions to identify potential opportunities and optimize program effectiveness.
  • Supports internal teams, such as grid operations, customer service, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of programs with overall utility operations and customer engagement efforts.
  • Reviews compliance and regulatory requirements and guidelines related to programs, including reporting obligations and adherence to program rules and protocols.
  • Evaluates program cost effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Engages with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and technology providers, to stay informed about industry trends, share best practices, and foster collaboration for the advancement of programs.
  • Provides administrative support for all program related training.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience working with demand response principles, customer programs, or conservation/efficiency initiatives.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Customer Service experience; resolving sophisticated customer issues and completing tasks in accordance with program rules or company policies.
  • Experience in data research using databases, files, or spreadsheets.
  • Experience in the creation and maintenance of records, logs, documents, files, or databases for use in monitoring, tracking, and trending program/project costs, resources, schedules, and status for management.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint.
  • Associate Degree
  • Knowledge of the utility industry, renewable incentives, or interconnection processes.
  • Knowledge of battery storage technologies for home or commercial facilities.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with accounting or budget reporting. 

 

Additional Information 

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
