Jeffrey Rodriguez is a senior advisor in Southern California Edison’s Supply Chain Management team and has been with the company for the last nine years. In his current role, he supports the development of strategic sourcing strategies for goods and services procured by the company. Jeffrey also leads Edison’s Transportation Electrification and Grid Modernization procurement teams, the Supply Chain Summer Internship program and mentorship program. He shares, “I get to be a part of exciting initiatives, from modernizing the grid of the future to transportation electrification, all in support of our Clean Energy Pathway.”

Rodriguez’s background includes being a post 9/11 U.S. Navy Veteran in which he served two overseas deployments aboard the USS Constellation CV64. He shares insights of the impact his military experience has had in his life, “Joining the United States Navy at 17 years old as my first job, I learned the value of honor, courage and commitment.” At Edison, he’s translated his military experience into being an exceptional leader, mission driven, fostering an inclusive environment, having accountability, and embracing diversity of thought.

Recently, Jeffrey was elected president of Edison’s military veteran resource group, Valor. Their mission is to bring together Edison’s community of veterans – service members, their families and military supporters. The group provides mentorship, professional development and support to assist veterans through the transition to the civilian workforce, helping to ensure that Edison provides a welcoming environment for all veterans.

We asked Jeffrey a few questions about his career and work at Edison:

Who is the most influential person in your life and why?

My parents. Seeing their hard work and commitment in supporting our family at a young age while growing up in the Bronx shaped and framed the type of individual I wanted to be when I grew up.

How would you describe Edison’s support of veterans?

Edison and our leadership are committed to the continued development and growth of all their diverse employees including military and veteran employees. We offer different types of benefits like pay for military training and active duty, time off for military service, and various other services.

Why would someone want to work for Edison?
