The pay range and the specific pay for the successful candidate are determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Southern California Edison Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

Become a Human Resources Operations Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll support HR’s client base and department in a centralized human resource service center (HR Shared Services department) on specific HR programs, products, services, practices and policies and other assigned areas of responsibility requiring analysis and decision making. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing employee data changes and organization & position management. You will provide key support to Compensation, implementation of major company initiatives including primary support processes and technology enhancements, provide a higher level of analytical support where subject matter expertise goes beyond established procedures and practices and requires analysis and decision making. You will also act as a key resource and subject matter expert for specific areas of responsibility such as vacation and holiday quotas.

A day in the life – Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Provide professional consultation and accurate information to all levels of employees regarding Human Resource programs, products, services, practices and policies.
  • Process and analyze employee data and organization changes, employee and life events with a high level of accuracy and in compliance with established policies, guidelines, procedures and provisions.
  • Support major company and HR initiatives such as changes to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Compensation Review, annual time-off accruals, and major company re-organizations.
  • Coordinate multiple simultaneous activities and develop solutions to unusual system and data challenges.
  • Provide technology and project support for system enhancements and operational changes.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts that drive for standardization and consistency.

The essentials

  • Five or more years of experience working with HR data or HR systems.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience working with SAP, Successfactors or other similar Human Capital Management systems.
  • Experience supporting HR initiatives or major projects.
  • Experience tracking, monitoring, analyzing, processing, and documenting data/information.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with solution-oriented approaches and strong collaboration with HR colleagues.
  • Experience identifying and leading process improvement opportunities.
  • Familiar with compensation practices and cyclical activities.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
