Become a Business Resiliency Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of a team of emergency management experts who strive to provide for and protect the security of people and property, and ensures the company is well prepared to respond to and recover from incidents that compromise our ability to operate. This position will help lead efforts to ensure the company’s incident response personnel are prepared for all types of hazards and threats in our service territory. They will ensure lead the design and development of seminars, drills, exercises, and workshops and plan an integral role in continuous improvement of our emergency response operations.
Focus of Role:
- Lead the design and development of seminars, workshops, drills, and exercises for every level of company personnel.
- Act as an exercise director on exercises.
- Support the design, development, and delivery of trainings.
- Through the exercise process and related duties, identify areas for improvement and help implement corrective actions and best practices.
- Serve as an emergency management subject matter expert, particularly for incident response and recovery.
- Engage emergency management partners at the local, state, and Federal level, and with utility industry professionals.
- Recommend, support, and consult on Business Resiliency initiatives, including planning, technology, training, exercise evaluation, and risk assessment projects.
- Support real-world emergencies, work in the Emergency Operations Center, and act as a lead coach or other support function for Incident Support and Management Teams. Will occasionally require weekend or night work.

Responsibilities
- Executes risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential business interruptions.
- Supports business resiliency incident management activities within the crisis management processes and monitors lessons learned.
- Drives projects related to crisis management, ensuring effective execution and desired outcomes.
- Conducts analysis on business functions and key business services, mapping to identify critical dependencies and potential vulnerabilities.
- Monitors events/incidents relating to operational resilience, including near misses and facilitates escalation, remediation, and coordination of the company’s response as required.
- Implements, manages, and maintains resiliency program infrastructure, including business resiliency tools, notification systems, documentation, and management reporting.
- Identifies areas to mature in the program to increase the company’s resilience capabilities, assisting the business functions in identifying and remediating gaps in their resilience capabilities.
- Designs and facilitates meaningful plan exercises, analyzes outcomes to identify trends, weaknesses/gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ten or more years of experience dealing with emergency management, business resiliency, or facility preparedness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Five or more years of work experience in the electric utility industry.
- Experience supporting incident response for a large enterprise.
- Experience leading training and exercise programs and developing after action reports.
- Completion of FEMA training on the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP); or equivalent.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- This position resides in the Business Resiliency Department which is also the company’s emergency management function. This position will be expected to fill a role supporting Emergency Response Operations, as needed, and directed by department management. Day, night and weekend work may be required to help if an emerging incident occurs.
