    This pay range represents the rates of pay for step 1 to the maximum step for this position. The pay range and the specific pay for the successful candidate are determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Southern California Edison Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

Become a Senior Manager, Energy Marketing and Trading at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead the Forecasting, Analytics, and Distributed Energy Resources team in Energy Procurement and Management. The position will focus on load and energy price forecasting as well as participating in energy procurement and bidding strategy development.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the marketing and trading strategy and monitors position based on risk exposure and trading volume limits
  • Captures and presents market information and knowledge management, and communicates market insights in trading strategies and positions
  • Leads the development of comprehensive bidding strategies, balancing business objectives with regulatory compliance, and monitors performance and makes high-level adjustments to achieve organizational goals
  • Delivers after-the-fact analysis to inform strategy course correction and improvements
  • Influences the evaluation of new products and services that increase profitability of existing and new customers. Deploys testing of new products/services through continuous discovery of customer needs
  • Manages and measures the effectiveness of strategies, processes, methods, tools, and market products to pursue improvement opportunities
  • Develops ongoing business relationships with assigned customer base and brokers by maintaining constant contact, promoting products/services and resolving customer issues
  • Supports long-term electricity and marketing agreements with both private and public companies and government sector organizations
  • Monitors the internal service delivery system by working cooperatively and effectively with all members of the service delivery team
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management
  • Experience leading trading initiatives, strategies and/or scheduling power into organized energy markets.

 

Preferred Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field.
•    Experience/knowledge with California Independent System Operator (CAISO) operations.
•    Experience forecasting energy prices.
•    Experience forecasting customer load.
•    Project management experience.

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA.  However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. 
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
