The pay range and the specific pay for the successful candidate are determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Southern California Edison Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

Become a Business Resiliency Team Readiness Senior Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead training and exercise efforts for 900+ Incident Management Team members, ensure comprehensive employee and facility emergency preparedness programs, support all-hazards incident preparedness and response, and help to make Edison employees, facilities, and processes more resilient for any hazard we could face in our service area. The Business Resiliency Senior Manager also supports real-time incident response efforts as part of the company’s on-call Incident Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees development and completion of multiple program areas of the enterprise business reiliency program including emergency planning, training, exercises, business continuity, and response operations
  • Monitors internal and external environments for potential events that may impact the company, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to manage plan development, notifications and communications
  • Understands, interprets and applies all relevant regulation and guidance to ensure the company’s business resiliency initiatives meet industry standards and comply with relevant regulation in all jurisdictions
  • Creates and facilitates practice drills and exercises to evaluate emergency response and business continuity plans
  • Manages teams charged with program management such as development and maintenance of business continuity, IT disaster recovery, and emergency response plans;  emergency management training; emergency exercises; weather services; and emergency response operations
  • Develops and maintains relationships across all levels of the company to facilitate business resiliency endeavors
  • Develops and implements viable strategies to minimize customer impacts and ensures the timely recovery of core business functions during and after a business disruption
  • Serves in an emergency response role as part of the Company’s Incident Management Team and as the duty officer for the company  in supporting crisis response coordination with departments
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years managing/supervising an organization/unit or five or more years of project management experience.
  • Experience with emergency management, business resiliency, or facility preparedness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience developing and delivering emergency management trainings and/or exercises. 
  • Five or more years of incident response, Incident Management Team, or Emergency Operations Center activation experience. 
  • Experience leading facility emergency preparedness programs.
  • ICS 300, ICS 400, HSEEP training; ICS 300 and ICS 400 train the trainer certification.
  • Demonstrated utility emergency management or business resiliency experience. 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA.  However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service area.  
  • This position resides in the Business Resiliency Department which is also the company’s emergency management function.  This position will be expected to fill a role supporting Emergency Response Operations, as needed, and directed by department management. Day, night and weekend work may be required to help if an emerging incident occurs.     
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
