Become an Enterprise Architect – Customer Service and Corporate Portfolio in the Enterprise Architecture Services at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be accountable for direction, performance, and ongoing health of architecture across application domains (Business, Application, Information, Technology, Security). Defines, maintains and supports the establishment of EA governance and metrics, and partners with key business and IT leadership for the purpose setting and aligning strategic direction. Leads the development of EA artifacts, roadmaps, as-is and to-be portfolio diagrams, architecture narratives, and architecture building blocks.
As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, the Enterprise Architect – Customer Service and Corporate Portfolio will partner with business clients and other parts of IT to provide architecture services including solution and systems architectures, IT portfolio strategy, and roadmaps necessary to plan and deliver IT solutions related to SCE’s Transmission & Distribution capabilities. You will play a key role in supporting the Transmission & Distribution organization’s business through the enablement and automation of business capabilities, functions, processes, and products.
Focus of Role:
- Develop overall technology architectural direction for IT’s technology portfolio that aligns to and supports SCE’s business objectives.
- Develop and implement architectural principles, standards, policies and solution governance. Manage and actively participate in the Enterprise Architecture Governance Model. Voting member of the Solution Design Council (SDC). Serve as point of escalation for key issues and decisions for all architecture domains.
- Orchestrate the maintenance and enrichment of baseline architectures across domains to support target-state architecture development. Builds a holistic view of current- and future-state application architectures.
- Support Business Portfolio Management by providing architectural and strategic consulting in the areas of IT Strategy, architecture principles, project estimation and best practices. Partners with senior IT staff and business leaders to act as an advisor to IT strategic planning efforts.
- Drive smarter technology investments by driving changes in application, infrastructure, process and IT tools architecture. Provide value analysis to make sure SCE is realizing the full benefit of our investments.

Responsibilities
- Aligns domain-specific solutions with enterprise / operational architecture standards and processes; understands surrounding solutions and enterprise information flow. Assess potential industry/vendor solutions and advise project/ product / operation teams
- Supports the design and further development of target IT architectures for energy networks / systems
- Maintains current and future state business / technology capability and application models
- Collaborates with stakeholders to design, evaluate, and select IT solutions that meet business / technology / regulatory requirements
- Facilitates effective communication and collaboration between vendors, business units, IT teams, and stakeholders
- Identifies potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and guiding the implementation of changes to minimize disruption
- Supports the value streams in scope for the programs and products supporting the organization’s infrastructure
- Assists and advises product teams in the configuration, testing, implementation, and support of technical solutions
- Provides guidance to an extended project team or OT operations team related to the solution architecture and technical design
- Identifies and evaluates emerging trends and technologies, and analyzes the impact on energy networks in proof-of-concepts
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ten or more years of experience designing and developing enterprise IT architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or an M.B.A. with a technical undergraduate degree.
- Ten or more years of experience designing, integrating, and managing complex information across multiple technology solutions.
- Five or more years of experience building strategic technology plans and roadmaps.
- Five or more years of demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, cost estimation and financial analysis.
- Experience with TOGAF methodology or TOGAF 9 Certification.
- Experience in the electric utility business areas and its regulatory environment.
- Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and thrive in a fast-paced, and service-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated, independent initiative and creative problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong technical intuition.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, skilled at influencing through compelling written and verbal messaging, and adept at setting and managing expectations with executive leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and consistently meet ambitious deadlines.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs
