Become a Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead the advanced analytics practice within the Digital and Process Transformation team in IT, driving a culture of data-driven decision-making through the delivery of advanced analytics solutions that solve business problems, create operational efficiencies, and deliver high value, highly complex use cases. You will exhibit strong leadership through collaboration across the business and IT, designing, developing and delivering predictive and prescriptive solutions, utilizing artificial intelligence, data mining, statistical and machine learning techniques and capabilities. You will conduct research on emerging trends and technologies, evolving the advanced analytics strategy and ensuring alignment with SCE’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities
- Manages resources and budgets to deliver advanced analytics solutions, provides performance feedback, mentors employees, and ensures staffing levels and skills meet organizational objectives.
- Builds and maintains resource plans to ensure level workloads and sufficient coverage for project work across sub-portfolios.
- Provides strategic planning within the data and advanced analytics portfolio, partners with SMEs and leadership to understand business problems, and manages the Center of Excellence for Data Science.
- Performs demand management, requirements management, benefits case development, and client relationship management.
- Provides requirements to core IT for technology needs, facilitates technology solution evaluations, and assesses compatibility and integration of proposed products/services.
- Responsible for rapid technology prototyping based on business-driven use cases and determining quality and fit for application.
- Engages with business SMEs and leadership regarding advanced analytics objectives, develops business domain knowledge, and maintains open dialogue on interactions and dynamics.
- Develops and communicates the strategy and roadmap for advanced analytics capabilities, keeps abreast of advancements in the field, and participates in industry forums.
- Provides thought leadership, perspectives, and research around process, technology, and techniques to improve solutions.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience supervising a technical team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Five or more years of hands-On experience in data and advanced analytics solution design, development and delivery experience.
- Experience with Agile product development, data science methodologies and practices, and languages and platforms such as Python, R, SQL, MLFlow and Databricks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad understanding of the electric utility industry and its regulatory environment.
- Specialized understanding of one or more electric utility business areas such as Customer Service, Transmission & Distribution, Power Supply, Generation, system operations or planning.
- Experience with visualization and dashboarding tools for communicating data science solution results in support of decision-making.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google, Azure, AWS, and Snowflake for scalable data science solutions.
- Understanding or model performance tracking, data drift detection and retraining workflows.
- Knowledge of trends in generative AI, social science modeling and simulation techniques.
- Masters or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
