Become a Road and Right of Way Supervisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead crews that construct, repair, and maintain access roads, trails, rights of way, and related utility infrastructure. This position also includes training employees, inspecting field conditions and contractor work, coordinating with property owners, reporting repair needs, and recommending operational or staffing changes as needed.

Responsibilities
- Works with and plans, assigns and supervises work of crew engaged in constructing, repairing and maintaining roads, trails and right of way.
- Trains members of crew in performance of duties and operation of tractor, grader, bulldozer, and similar equipment.
- Warns of unusual conditions and determines changes in operation to meet conditions.
- Arranges with ranchers and property owners regarding the routing of roads, removal of trees and other obstructions, and the movement of heavy equipment over their property.
- Inspects roads, trails, right of way, pole and tower foundations, underground substructure, and brushing and weed abatement.
- Prepares reports on conditions and may recommend urgency of repairs.
- Inspect and patrol transmission, wholesale and communications tower and pole lines.
- Preform job walks and inspect contractor work.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience or training as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
- Must have a valid Class A Driver License with tanker endorsement that does not have restrictions from driving a manual transmission.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years in direct leadership or supervisory experience within road maintenance or construction.
- Experience coordinating and communicating with local municipalities, environmental and utility organizations.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- Position will require up to 85% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- This position is a Department of Transportation (DOT) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
- Relocation does not apply to this position.
Testing
- This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: Right of Way Equipment Operator (ROW 3) Knowledge Test (Test #2815), Right of Way Equipment Operator (ROW 3) Performance (Test #4815), Backhoe Performance Test (Test #4817).Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
