Become a Quality Control Inspection, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll perform Quality Control field inspections of contractor work within Joint Pole Operations to ensure compliance with SCE standards, contractual requirements and regulatory guidelines. You’ll conduct field verifications, support internal and external customers, identify unauthorized attachments and verify compliance with General Order 95.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatches field crews, troubleshooters and testers engaged in the construction, maintenance and emergency restoration of energy distribution facilities and customer service facilities; assigns work to SCE’s contractors, reviews contractor daily reports for accuracy, and resolves issues and approves changes; monitors assigned contract crews for safe, productive and quality work practices.
  • Ensures that the services provided to the customer meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Creates and delivers reports on all ongoing construction, quality of work, and scheduled maintenance. Documents the location of installed facilities on as-built drawings and prepares required supporting documents in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates changes to projects in accordance with contract documents and/or department policies and procedures with both internal and external customers.
  • Tasks projects collaboratively with contractors and provides technical support to Local and Tech Planning. Interfaces with internal personnel and outside agencies, making decisions in the field which may impact the efficiency of field crews and work order closings.
  • Reviews, authorizes, validates and tracks assigned work scopes and scope changes at the field level.
  • Performs contractor field safety assessments. Creates and maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
  • Ensures warranty corrections are completed and inspects work for safety and quality.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in quality control and inspection.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Three years of experience in utility joint‑use or telecom/communication attachment inspection.
  • Experience applying CPUC General Oder (GO) 95 requirements and joint-use compliance requirements.
  • Experience identifying unauthorized attachments (UA) on utility poles.
  • Ability to coordinate with utilities and telecom providers during joint-use activities.
  • Field inspection experience with sound judgment and compliance-based decision making.

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
