Our mission is bold and the stakes are high. Our Transmission and Distribution unit is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities required to safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million Californians across our 50,000-square-mile territory. We also have our Network & Telecom Engineering group of Grid Services. They’re responsible for planning, designing, and implementing SCE’s extensive private network, including transmission, voice, data, video, mobile radio, satellite, and packet radio data networks. With powerful resources and the support of an entire organization behind them, our engineers are redefining what’s possible and transforming the electricity grid.

Apparatus & Standards Engineering
Develop the technical and inspection requirements for substation and distribution apparatus specifications, standards development, material coordination, and compatible units.
